Special Featurette: Bringing Gaming into Reality
Making of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn
Bonus digital content through Xbox LIVE:

It sounds interesting. I may just get it because of the maps. I would like to see what the custom skins and such look like though.

Here is a video showing a couple of gameplay clips.

I wonder if Overshields will make players shiny like it did in Halo 3. I only say that because it looks like when players take damage in Halo 4, the player shields get more and more sparkly, whereas in Halo Reach there is only an orange outline for damage taken to the player - followed by a "pop".

Limited Edition is cool. I like the inclusion of the Forward Unto Dawn "Special Edition" Live-Action Videos. But, I think it's only accessible through Halo Waypoint, if I remember correctly. It would have been nice to have it included in a second disc with all the other bonus content, or on a disc of its own! I prefer a disc with all the bonus content. Bonus "digital" content (accessible through the internet or apps) is getting more and more popular :(
What if I'm offline? I should be able to pop in a disc and enjoy my bonus content like the 90-Minute Forward Unto Dawn "Special Edition" Live-Action video series...

Quote:
The Special Edition of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn is a 90-minute extended version of the live-action digital series which will take fans back to the terrifying beginning of the Human/Covenant war, when the Master Chief inspired a young cadet who would eventually become a leader aboard the UNSC’s greatest vessel ever: the UNSC Infinity.

Digital content also includes in-fiction bonus content that expands the characters and stories of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, special featurette Bringing Gaming into Reality, and a behind the scenes look at the making of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn.
I hope all the bonus content for Halo 4 Limited Edition is not only digital content

There seems to be no wearable or real-life props too. Instead, we get a "digital" prop and clothes for your virtual avatar. I don't need another tiny statue or master chief helmet - but at least one or two bonus DVD discs would be nice and that's what I hope they include for Halo 4 Limited Edition.

I would probably be prepared to pay up to £120 for this. I hope its not that much though as I don't know the UK price for it yet. Or, I could always get my Dad to buy it who's a pretty big Halo fan as well.

I'm not sure as of yet whether I want the special edition yet, as I see more information revealed then I'll know for certain. I'm also hoping they have something big planned for PAX, that will be my biggest pushing point.

If you look closely, just like H3 and Reach, the shields expand slightly, increasing your hitbox before that pop.

I am willing to put down actual cash that if not provided as a digital disc, then you can download it once from the Live marketplace and have it on your xbl HD, just like any other movie or tv show. Waypoint just doesn't have the infrastructure to recognize and unlock individual content for individual players. Even xbl as a service as a whole relies upon the stored sign-in data that you provide with your windows-live mail to access your account; waypoint won't be able to tell individually and unlock your content unless they develop a new UI and implement password protection every time you log in. Before H4 launches. Not happening.

The most real life prop you're going to get is a statue dude. Once again, the feasibility and cost/production values for microsoft just aren't there to provide you with an irl tshirt or a gravhammer.

Speaking of marketing and economics, I've gotta hand it to the marketing division at Microsoft, only having 2 versions with limited jampacked with so much is brilliant. People including myself begin to rationalizing another $40, 2/3rds of the original price for a brand-new game because of the content and overall hype. you're basically almost paying full retail for two games while not providing another option makes the choice clear.

Well done MS, you evil brilliant bastards. I tip my hat to you.

For anyone paying attention to my rantings, you remember the thought I introduced at the top of page 19, about having more control over the storyline or your fate in the fiction? The following is just quoted from the front page but it leads me to believe I'm not as crazy as I claim to be.

"Here you’ll build your custom Spartan-IV supersoldier, and progress your multiplayer career across all “Halo 4” competitive and cooperative game modes. Surrounded by the sights, sounds and crew of the biggest vessel in the UNSC fleet, your multiplayer experience will be embedded in the fiction of “Halo” like never before, where your progress and game choices affect your appearance, arsenal, and role on the battlefield."

...and role on the battlefield

Now call me a narwhale and paint me purple but I swear I'm on to something. I'm not saying there might be skill branches and surely not full storyline changes from game choices ie; ME in the Spartan Ops portion but what Frankie and 343 are saying is rather suggestive.

That could also just mean how players will play in multiplayer - like cqc, team player, support player, lone wolf, etc. Say, if I have a shotgun to start with, then I will try to encounter my enemies in close-quarters, or if I have a DMR and some regeneration device, then I can be some sort of medic and support player. It makes me think of the names on loadouts in Halo Reach. Although in Halo Reach you can put whichever name you want on whatever loadout weapons used.

It also sounds like "game choices" are only related to the customization of your player. This is my guess, without being too optimistic and getting my hopes up for something spectacular, lol.

Information concerning new armor, armor/weapon skins and emblems have recently been released/ leaked.

Check out those hot armor/skins

Major shoutout to Ducain23 from youtube, he has a lot of help but he displays the news before nearly anyone else. If you want a home to keep updated, his channel is the one to watch.
