Elder Scrolls five will be here very soon!(on 11.11.11)post your thoughts, ideas, plot ideas, ect...
i love elder scrolls in general, and am working on oblivion now. ok, so if youve played oblivion, youve seen skyrim on the edge of the map. does anyone know anything about it? also, if you have the game, fast travel to the imperial market place. notice 2 thinks

1.those red banners. look at the symbol on them. its a dragon, and why is this important? go to elderscrolls.com. before it plays the skyrim trailer, you will se the EXACT SAME DRAGON

2.the statue of the warior in front of slash and smash. the dragons on his shield too.

other points:

1. in the trailer it mentions that the "sons of skyrim have already spilled the royal blood"(thats close enough to whatever it preciesly said)

2. ok, so the "dragon born" mentioned in the video cant be the emporer of the imperial city, his relitives of his son. (i mean its possible, but that would be such a lame plot. i geuss you could find out that you the empors long lost son, but that would be a really, really, lame plot.)

Qustions to yall:

1. WHO IS THE DRAGON BORN. top priority thing to figur out.

2. dragons. what do we know about them.

3. why would oblivions closing signal these "sons of skyrim" to wake up

4. who is skyrim, and who would name an area of land for him?(he dosnt sound all that great, having evil dragons as sons and all...)

5. ok so "it dawned in fire" means a crapload of stuff has gone done the drain, what though? anythoughts as to whats been destroyed?

since im probably not going to PAX east, fill me in on what they say if you go!(i hope i can but i really want to)

I started playing the Elder Scrolls games in 2003 with Morrowind, so I am definitely looking forward to Skyrim.

"Skyrim" wasn't a person. It's just the northern-most land on the continent (ie: so high up that it touches the sky). "Sons of Skyrim" just means "citizens of Skyrim", much like the saying "Sons of America" means "citizens of America".

If I had to guess, I'd say that the "Dragon Born" is the reincarnation of an ancient hero of Skyrim who arises when there is a big-bad that needs defeating. I'm guessing that person will be you, the player character.

In Morrowind, you played as the reincarnation of an ancient hero, and I think they are going down a similar road here. This is just speculation, but you might not be the errand boy to the real hero like you were to Martin in Oblivion. In Skyrim, it looks like you will actually be the center-stage hero.

Dragons have always been a tease in the Elder Scrolls games. They've never actually appeared proper outside of Gods taking their form (like in the end of Oblivion). It'll be interesting to see if Bethesda is actually going to show us real dragons this time.

If you'd like more information on the older games in the series, you should check out the Elder Scrolls Wiki.

When I play elder scroll games, like morrowind/oblivion, I enjoy them a lot. I play the main quest for a bit, but then usually get distracted by a bunch of side quests/guild things until I forget what was going on with the main quest. And by then, if I wanted to understand the story, I'd need to start over and try to really focus on the main quest. But when I do, I usually install a stupid amount of community content/quest additions which end up distracting me even more. Thus, I have never finished an elder scroll game. Maybe it'll happen this summer, if I'm not too busy with The Old Republic.

My favorite thing to do in Morrowind/Oblivion is to just pick a direction and go. Just wander and see what kind of villages, caves, ruins, or quests I find. The world is just so packed with content that you are guaranteed to find something fun to do just by wandering around.

What type of character do you guys usually play? In Morrowind, I preferred to play as a magic-user, just because you could create a character with spells powerful enough to do anything (even jump from one end of the continent to the other). In Oblivion, I preferred to play as a stealthy bow-user, as the sneaking and stealth parts of the game were so well done.

Don't know yet what my first character will be in Skyrim. Guess I still have plenty of time to think about it. :P

There was a "Mark/Recall" spell where you could set a marker at your current location and then cast another spell to teleport back there from anywhere in the world.

There was also a "Jump" spell that increased your jump height. I used to create a monster spell that would allow me to "Jump" from one end of the continent to the other. It was the best way to get around.

Game Informer updated the Skyrim story today. Talks about the technology behind the game and how the NPCs will be much more dynamic with regards to actions they partake within the world and actions and emotions they reflect towards you the player. And they add a screenshot. No words necessary.

That game informer article makes it sound like it'll be an excellent game. And if they've got dragons in it this time, hopefully the main character will be able to fly around again, like in Morrowind.

Looks like Enchanting is its own skill again. It was present in Morrowind (allowed you to enchant items with soul gems without visiting a specialist or enchanting altar), but they dropped it Oblivion. Wonder what it'll do this time?
