Hey Fellow Grifballers
[if that's a word]

Anywho I'm trying to find the Vanilla grifball gametype before any updates were even applied.
I have the current vanilla but the settings aren't the same or don't seem the same from the launch of grifball.

Anyone know where i can get it?

P.s If i submit my map and gametype who are the testers and what are they looking for?

Which updates are you referring to? For example, the oldest version of Vanilla dates back to Sept of 2010 and would be pretty tough to track down.

As far as map submissions, you can do so here. Our Cartographer Nuclear Taco 42 rules that area and generally what he looks for are clean lines, no z-fighting, proper spacing and spawns, etc.

I Might have the original Vanilla type, as I kinda hoard all Grifball variants LOL.

Well the December updates were the worst, so anything before December would be nice.
[Vanilla Grifball]

Also would "Taco" be willing enough to pre-overlook my map before submitting it?

I found my map simple.

Taco reviews the maps once they're submitted, gives feedback, and if they're ready he'll post the map as it's own thread so the community can leave feedback.

As far as the pre-December updates, I only have this Vanilla gametype from January of 2011 - Bungie.net link

The only change made to Vanilla Grifball in the December update was the increased jump height. Before that there hadn't been any gametype updates in months, since there was the transition of Reach from Bungie to 343.

The games to 5 rounds instead of ending after 3 scores wasn't something that was planned. It's simply a difference in how Bungie set up gametypes compared to how 343 does. I haven't spoken to 343 in a couple weeks, but in our last communication I was told they'll be working on making the change back to games ending after 3 scores.

Well in that case it's good to know I will only have to tweak so little things to adapt to the map.

Was there a change to the damage or Health to the Grif. carrier? I can't surpase a triple in a consecutive row, i have to span out the kills alot.

In unrelated matters, I played with you before. :D

Well thanks for the help.

Hopefully my map will end the Reign of players Stat Padding and give way for more interesting battles over the Ball.

See you in Grifball hopefully.

Nope no carrier changes, just the jump height.

The carrier traits can seem different depending on host and your connection. If you have a solid connection -- and opponents who are slow on the trigger -- you can sometimes stream together many stiff-arms in a row. If you have a lousy connection in a game, though, the runner can seem much weaker. The damage resistance, etc are all the same, but the latency between you and your opponents differs.

Well if you can send me some clips of you getting an over kill consecutively then I'll have a change in mind.

As of now, I can't get past a Triple kill if i don't space it out.

This is a clip of me getting kills even with no Health @ 0:13.

This isn't possible to my knowledge anymore.

Connection based. If I'm on host I can score a lot more hits than off host. Though I never host.

I'm not sure how many times I need to reiterate that there were NO changes made to the bomb carrier, but I guess I'll say it again. There were NO CHANGES made to the bomb carrier.

I have no trouble stringing kills together as the carrier actually. Then again I don't find it necessary, since I tend to follow my tanks and let them do the work. I suppose if I were just trying to stat pad, it might be necessary to maximize the number of kills I can earn as the bomb carrier though.

In the next update we'll make him invulnerable.

Here (4:20) is a clip of Halo7Jet getting a Killpocalypse with the bomb using the matchmaking settings.

Granted, he lives in Europe, so you have that connection thing.
