Some games of Grifball are so exciting that they elicit both cheers of joy and cries of anguish from those participating. But why should we limit that experience to only eight people?

GrifballHub is introducing Wednesday Night Grifbrawl: A weekly Grifball show on Twitch.tv that will showcase at least one LIVE Grifball game every week, complete with live play-by-play commentary from one of the most experienced Grifballers in the world - Texorcist!

The main show will begin at 10:00PM Eastern on GrifballHub's main Twitch.tv account. At this point we are interested in streaming GGL playoff game series.

Would your team like to sign up for the show? Your matchup can be the featured event on Wednesday Night Grifbrawl if:

1) Your team does not have a history of breaking the number one rule (Don't be a douche).
2) You have the permission of the captains of both teams.
3) You can guarantee that both teams will be online and ready to go 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
4) Your team does not have a history of connection issues and would be fine if either Tex or the streamer were to pull host.
5) Your team is fine playing on a neutral host map.

Timeliness is very important for this event. All eight players must be online and ready to play by 9:45 PM Eastern on Wednesday. If you cannot guarantee that each team will have four players online and ready to go at that time, please do not sign up.

Teams must also show sportsmanship during the broadcast. Although GrifballHub already does not allow malicious trash talking and personal attacks during our events, this will be greatly emphasized during Wednesday Night Grifbrawl. This includes chatter during the match that is not in your team's private chat.

For GGL playoffs or other events that are a best-of-three series, we would prefer to have the games played (and streamed) back-to-back. If teams in the playoffs need an extension to play on Wednesday Night Grifbrawl, they will be granted one if chosen for the show.

If demand is high enough, we can also accommodate the streaming of two additional games or best-of-three series before the main event (8:15PM Eastern and 9:00PM Eastern) on the Hub's secondary streaming account.

The first show will be on Wednesday, August 22. If you'd like to have your match showcased on Wednesday Night Grifbrawl, and you fit in the criteria listed above, then simply post the matchup below, in this thread. We will select the featured matchup and be in touch via Xbox Live to confirm that both teams will be ready to play.

Please feel free to post in this thread if you have any questions or comments. See you on the court and on the show!

Yes, if we can get it to work logistically. The NH map has ten slots -- eight players, plus a streamer and a commentator. The streamer can't commentate (because his voice audio does not play back into his own stream), and I'm not sure of the feasibility of having an 11 (or 12) person map.

One of the most exciting things about this project is the growth potential. We'll be trying out a variety of things during the show to entertain the audience and I'm sure new possibilities will open up as we find new and better ways of broadcasting.

This would be fun, but unfortunately I don't foresee us ever playing at that time :(.

Kewl, it's Someday Night Grifball.

Also glad to see that bringing streaming back to the AGLA has inspired others.

SNGB was very awesome way back in the day. It's a lot like that, but at a set day and time, and maybe with a few other additions.

More streamed Grifball games = more awesome.

Yeah, for a second I was upset that SNGB wasn't even mentioned, but then I realized there probably aren't very many people still around the GGL or even AGLA that remember it anyway.

And 200% agreed on the second point. This'll be great for Grifball. We've already had multiple people come into the stream that didn't know about the league beforehand.

It's something we've been kicking around doing for a couple years now. Having decent enough internet connections and computer setups finally makes it a possibility.

And obviously it's inspired very much by the old Someday NIght Grifball. I'm old enough and have been around long enough to remember it from the beginning.

Viewing a SNGB game is what made me decide to join up.

In theory it should be possible to have up to 16 players. 8 players and 8 spectators. There just needs to be enough room for all the spectators.

That's a good point. I guess my only concern would be if there would be lag with more people in the game. But I suppose it wouldn't create all that much lag if they weren't running around, swinging their hammers.

By the way, I've been asked a couple times about playoff deadlines: If you play on Wednesday Night Grifbrawl, you can have an extension on your playoff games to accommodate it. :)

Maybe a cap of 4 non players in a game or something. I don't think 2 extra people would make a huge difference in connection.
