SO. I've just been playing a bit o' grifball and I have been getting somewhat peeved by the prevalent spawn killing by certain annoying individuals who simply play to rack up kills and sprees.

I'm not great at this game but I think I'm OK, and I usually play with a couple decent friends or with randoms.

It seems like every other game this happens - the enemy team acquires the ball and holds it while 2-3 of the other team members start crushing us and hanging out in our in-zone and get kill after kill after kill. I use the swing-the-hammer-right-as-I-spawn method and it gets me out sometimes.

Anyway I would really enjoy grifball more if spawn killing could be lessened somehow. And maybe I'm the only one who has a problem with this, I don't know. Yes, I realize I can get better and that will help. But the fact is people take advantage of the game and players and can make it into a very unsporting and frustrating experience.

Here's a couple thoughts I've had on lessening or eliminating the problem:

-Add a kill timer to each teams in-zone so an enemy player can only hang around your goal for under ten seconds before they die.
-Add a 2-3 sec. invincibility to the player when they spawn (I don't think that would work, actually)
-Allow the players to choose from a selection of spawn points
-Have a one way shield and a sliver of space set aside for spawning

I'm sure pros don't have a problem with spawn killing so all this is just for us casuals.

Thanks for reading and I'm open to feedback concerning any other solutions or thoughts or maybe why there isn't a solution and why spawn killing is necessary.

I think this is the first time I've seen one of these for Halo 4, I remember them for Reach when spawn camping was a bigger problem but seems it still hasn't gone away. Right, Muffin rambling time.

First of all we have that spawn killing isn't a problem. It's a legitimate, if not pain in the ass to be put in, tactic for winning. If my team pulls one off in MM for example the game is usually done within the minute. Spawn camping is the problem however when they set up the trap with no intention of scoring and just go for the kills and score. That is the problem and that's why the Hub is against spawn camping and stat padding.

I think things have been tried in the past to reduce spawn trapping but nothing has seemed to work. A shield set-up was tried in Reach but padders could get around it, while the other settings basically have game breaking mechanics within them.

Like I said the Hub is strongly against stat padding and spawn camping and encourage players not to partake (players caught doing so are dismissed from the leagues) but as of yet a way to stop players doing so has yet to be found.

I've found the "best" remedy is to submit player reviews on these individuals and choose to avoid them due to unsporting game behavior.
