Obviosuly if someone plays amazing then they get on. But it shouldn't be restricted to what team they are on because there could be people better than them that are deprived of getting in the team of the season because they themselves have a very good squad.

Plus a lot of people won't know many other people in the league and not have seen who is good that is out there. Therefore a lot of people could be ignorant to the options

And on from that, you wouldn't get someone getting in just because they get carried by their teammates - I'm looking at you, Strangler (honestly, I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who fits in this description, but there have been some in the past who weren't as good as people thought).

Tbh, we know that the Team of the Season would really be MallardQuakson, JshadowknightP, Maroon Knight N, flameknightj, and everyone acknowledges that, so this whole discussion is completely pointless :3

I've put my mind to it, and a certain secretryan28 springs to mind when it comes to people discussing overrated players, there are definitely those out there who believed the rest of Grifballs of Steel were better than him (I was fortunate enough to not have to play [and get beaten by] them often, so I can't judge). And duffs.

It will be a bit of a popularity contest, of course it well, but anything like this would be. For something like end of season awards, that's not necessarily a bad thing, if someone is well known its obviously for a reason, either skill or involvement in the community, so it's not that bad if they do manage to squirm themselves into any "Team of the Season"-esque thing.

Like I said, it comes down to whether you think a Team of the Season should be used to recognise the "best" players or used to acknowledge players who have done well in teams who aren't at the very top. Though I still believe that there are a few non-JSG/TI people who could be considered as an all-star (not me I'm not THAT egotistic)

To be fair to secret ryan, he wasn't as good always as some people said he was, but he had his part to play on that team and that's what he did.

Everyone does have their role to play on a team. Like me, I have to value what I do based on what my team can and are doing. If I had a less capable team then I would play differently to how I do now, where I realise that we can get good chances to score more frequently without me having to charge through

Do I really have to comment on you being carried? Really? When you didn't play for Duffs Not Included in the playoffs we got beat. Dirty American neutral host, true, but we still got beat. I think that speaks for itself.

At the moment I am thinking of doing different awards for each divisions so for each division there would be.

Player of the Season: Any player (1 winner per division)
Rookie of the Season: First EUGBL season players (1 winner per division)
Team of the Season: Four top players from any teams (1 team per division)

Votes would be sent to me on XBL or the Hub to keep it fair and anonymous and you could vote for anybody who fits the quote other than yourself. The teams will not be capped to a certain amount of players from each team. I may also look at doing the same awards based of stats with help from Danny, I was tampering with a formula this morning to use with the stats but it still needs tweaking.

Are there that many rookies in Division 1? I can think of Lizard and Seldom Warrior, but they're the only ones who haven't played any leagues before. I guess if its eugbl rookies and not grifball rookies, then that adds Benji and most of KFC, but that's still not a massive amount. And you can't vote for yourself?

Well there are still going to be a few EUGBL rookies in Division 1, I know there are EUGBL rookies on ATR, KFC and HH and of course you can't vote for yourself, no problem with voting for players from your team but yourself no. Let's not get too big headed, that's supposed to be my bit

I understand your thing strangler about playing different roles based on the team. An example with my team, when benny is playing I play more in just holding the line pretty much and just playing really a supporting tanking role with benny doing a lot more than me (I also run as well) but when benny's not playing I get much more involved in the tanking side of things as I take pretty much the lead tanking role.

On a rookie note, what does it take to be classed as a rookie? I've got GheTTo Cl0wN and TheMadNarwhal who have only played in 1 GGL season before this, but i also have bigbellychimp and dawzy boi who have never played in the EUGBL before.
