Hello everybody and welcome to the EUGBL Discussion subject of the hub. This welcome package is just something to say hello, to give you a bit of information about the league as well as giving some tips.

What is the EUGBL?

EUGBL stands for European Grifball League and as it can maybe be deduced is that it is a Grifball league set up for European teams and players primarily, although some players from over areas are also welcome. The EUGBL (originally known as the UKGBL) was originally set up as an alternate league from the AGLA (American Grifball League of America) for players on our side of the pond to better suit our own time zones and connections. While the leagues no longer share a close affiliation together they are both similar leagues in their own way, and as such active players in the AGLA are not allowed into the EUGBL.

The EUGBL began in 2008 on Halo 3, where it enjoyed many happy seasons before moving onto Reach, first as a Evolved league before returning to a Vanilla format. The EUGBL will be moving to Halo 4 for its fourteenth season. The EUGBL is currently ran by Messiah Muffin who was elected into his position, along with a selected team of admins who compose the EUGBL admins. A list can be found in the EUGBL discussion section.

What is this section for?

The section, kindly granted to use by Mike, the owner of GrifballHub, is an area for all EUGBL sources and discussion. The EUGBL moved to the Hub forums from the old RT forums long ago and has found a warm and welcoming home here. The section contains a discussion section for general league talk, and teams are free to make their own team threads as well, as many do, for specific team related talk and communication. As well as these pages this is also the location to find things such as sign-ups for leagues, fixtures, results, league tables, playoffs and is also a section to report games. It also contains over helpful areas such as a rules page, an events page and a location for highlights and may also be the place to come for league, team and player stats.

The EUGBL section of the Hub is under the watchful eye of all of the moderators and community leaders on the Hub. Just because a mod may not play in the league doesn’t mean they’re not allowed to step into situations, they are just doing their job. The EUGBL section does have their own group of admins however, headed by community leader Messiah Muffin and made up of the rest of the admins. Their names will be in a mint green colour for those wondering how to spot them.

Tips and Guidelines

Now the forums are free for use by all GrifballHub members but we promote friendly behaviour on the forums. We know the EUGBL is a competitive league but there is no need for bad sportsmanship, arguing and trouble making on the forums. If it is felt a topic is getting out of hand a site or EUGBL moderator may step in to calm things down. This can come in the effect or warnings, post deletion, thread locking or even bans. While we allow players to speak their minds and give their opinions this will not be taken as an acceptable excuse for abusing fellow Hub goers, trouble making and such. We ask that non-admins don’t try and get involved in arguments and rather than stepping in to try and calm them down simply don’t say anything and contact an admin. We know these actions are often meant in a peace making measure but can often cause more trouble. We also ask that players try and curb their language on the Hub as it is free for use by all ages. Inappropriate content, such as pornographic content, is not allowed and may result in punishment.

If you’re looking to get involved in the league or looking to get to know your fellow EU Grifballers better than the forums are a great place to visit. Along with the news you’ll also be able to get to know your fellow players better and may make some new friends. We know that some players may not be able to find teams right away or may jump in after the season has already begun but sticking around the forums may make you feel closer to the league and help you stick around for longer.

Most of all we hope that you enjoy using these forums and enjoy your time in the European Grifball League. Thanks for reading.

- Messiah Muffin
