The EGRA Spring 2013 Pairs Championship will be taking place on
Friday 31st May 2013 at 7pm GMT
So after an eventful first EGRA season on Halo 4, here we are looking at the EGRA Pairs Championships. For those of you who weren't around for the last Pairs Championship, it's a one night event where teams of two compete against each other on five different EGRA tracks, with the top team on points winning the event. Last season's victors were "Impact Racing", TMR797 and rollo 93. You can check out the last Pairs Championship results here.

Now when it comes to Halo 4, we don't have the race game type like we did in Halo Reach. To combat this, someone has to officiate the race from the sidelines which unfortunately sticks a limit to the teams to 7. For this reason, the first phase of invites to the Pairs Championship will be sent out to the top 8 racers of the EGRA Spring 2013 Season. These 8 can of course choose to pair up with each other, like I expect germanicus1994 and MallardQuakson to do, but they can choose anyone to race on their team, or elect not to compete entirely. Once the top 8 have made their decision the second phase of invites will be sent to others who were regularly competing in the EGRA, e.g., Dat Crab.

The points for the event will be based on how many turn up. If we have the maximum, 14 racers, the points will range from 14 points for 1st, 13 for 2nd etc. all the way down to 1 point for finishing 14th. As it's a team event, if you finish directly behind your teammate, you'll earn a bonus point. This would be indicated with an asterisk on the scoresheet. These bonus points add up to your team total, the same as regular points.

1st - TMR797 (Impact Racing) 14
2nd - rollo 93 (Impact Racing) 13*
3rd - germanicus1994 (Stockport Motors) 12
4th - MallardQuakson (Stockport Motors) 11*

Example 2

1st - germanicus1994 (Stockport Motors) 14
2nd - TMR797 (Impact Racing) 13
3rd - rollo 93 (Impact Racing) 12*
4th - MallardQuakson (Stockport Motors) 11

In Example 2, germ took the win for Stockport Motors, MQ finished in 4th. Together, they earned 25 points. TMR and rollo team rode and finished second and third respectively. Due to the bonus points, Impact Racing took 26 points from the race. With the examples above, you can see how team racing can make a difference to your team's standings at the end of the night.

Please make sure that your service tags are different from each other and anyone else previously signed up. This way when officiating, Kirsty will be able to differentiate everyone from each other, and be able to recognise teams easier.
