So with it being the 1 year anniversary of XBL support for Halo 2 being shutdown, I think this is a great time to make a Halo 2 thread. Use this thread to post why you liked/didn't like Halo 2. Post stories. Maybe your favorite Halo 2 videos (if enough get posted, I might update the OP with them)? Just post stuff about Halo 2.

RIP Halo 2

Well, atleast there is a pc version with working multiplayer! I even get achievements, just to bad they doesn't count at waypoint.

We played a lot of Halo 2 in college. We'd have four people on the TV in my dorm room every day playing CTF, Assault, and Slayer online.

Pretty safe to say, too, that if it weren't for that game, Goose and I probably wouldn't be married right now. :P

The glitches/easter eggs were the best part of Halo 2.

I'm putting this in a different post than my other one for the sake of length.

I loved Halo 2 primarily for the glitches. Super bouncing/sword canceling/butterflying/etc. That is one of the main reasons that Halo 2 didn't die for so long. It is the only Halo with a sense of exploration.

Halo 2 also had the best customs out of any Halo IMO (sorry Grifball). Even though Halo 2 Customs had next to no customization, the community's imagination prevailed in Halo 2. Some of the stuff that people came up with in Halo 2 was just unbelievable. Also, no form of Halo 3/Reach zombies beats Halo 2 zombies.

MM was actually AMAZING in Halo 2. The ranking system was actually difficult to get up in. If you were above a 30, you were REALLY good. And the maps were AMAZING in Halo 2. They offered a little of everything. Small/Medium/Big sized maps. Competative/Casual maps. They also offered.........TRAINS!!!

And finally, a little + for me personally. I met so many amazing people in Halo 2. And it wasn't like it was today. Today, it's rare that humor isn't crude. Back then (I was 12-15), the crude humor didn't exist which to me personally made the people that much better. I am still REALLY good friends with a few people I met on Halo 2.

Overall, Halo 2 offered the most out of any Halo (even with less customization) and, in my opinion, will never be challenged by ANY game.

<3 Halo 2.

I still like to pop in Halo 2 on my PC once in a while but yeah, its not the same. The whole twist of playing as the Arbiter was probably the biggest shock for me in a video game since Final Fantasy VII

I ashamed to say I never played Halo 2 till 2008, by then the 'nostalga' had kinda worn off and Halo 3 was obviously the big one. Although in the limited time I had playing it, I could feel the special sense of occassion anytime you went into multiplayer and sense the fun that was to be had in it.

I tried to stuff it all into one night- the final night of Halo 2 MP. I'll always remember my last competitive game, lost 49-50 on Slayer on Zanzibar. I was the final kill in a lost BR battle. I felt thats how I want to remember Halo 2 for some reason.

I think if Halo 2 had the same Service Record and Rank system as Reach I probably would have hit Inheritor after a year. Played a TON.

I was the champion in my dorm, any time someone new moved into the building they would show up at my door: "I heard you were the guy to beat at Halo."
