Share your different plays and maneuvers with the Grifballl community, I of course understand that every team has it's own unique plays that they rather wouldn't let everyone know, but I also know there are plays that aren't all that secret. Help some new teams out, or maybe just get together and collaborate on new plays and maneuvers.

I'll start us off:

"The Pneumatic Press"
This is play that only works right of the bat, as it is a "Start-off Play"

This is a fairly basic play, and I see it a lot in matchmaking, basically what you do is you have your tank and defender go up the middle towards the bomb, close together but not so close that the tank will kill the defender with a hammer-smack, or that the defender gets killed by the enemy team.

(Side note: It's advised you have the defender hang back a little, just in case the enemy team gets the bomb first)

While this is happening you will have you tank and runner coming from opposite sides to close in on the enemy team who will more than likely be clustered around the bomb site, from here on out it should be pretty easy to take them out.

I'd just like to say that I am one of those newbie coaches I was talking about earlier and I'm having a bit of trouble coming up with plays, so any help is appreciated.

"the quickstart"runner walks forward while the rest roll or sprint up to the bomb and take out any enemies they come across, by the end of that fight the runner should be able to roll it in with his tanks spawn camping

well a good play that I've seen is the "1 2 3 4" which goes off the start which goes from left to right and it has player 1 and player 4 going around the side towards the ball and player 2 stays back and player 3 goes to grab the ball

I think about maneuvers quite a bit, but I rarely ever get to try them out. Keep in mind all of my experience has been gained strictly through hands-on play during matchmaking, so I have very little knowledge of existing plays and the like. So I apologize if some of these are already common knowledge:

  • Sandwiching: Pretty basic. Involves getting a player behind the enemy Grif's line and pushing him in from both sides in order to regain control.

Set-up takes two Defenders, at least one needs to be able to Tank. The one who isn't Tanking should launch/get himself/herself behind all attacking Tanks and behind the enemy Grif without drawing too much attention. Then it's a simple matter of applying pressure on both sides, eliminating enemy blockers as needed, and either taking the Grif by surprise or converging at the same time so the Grif is forced into a 2 v 1.

  • Echelon Push - This one probably only works well in MM, as I doubt players/teams who know what they're doing fall into this trap. Basic attack that relies primarily on the tendency for enemy players to hone in on the Grif with little regard to the rest of their court.

The Grif begins a push on either the far right or far left without Tank support. The other team should begin aggressive defense of that side, leaving the center and opposite side mostly clear. At this point the rest of your team should launch quickly into position, cutting off the enemy team from one side of their court in a diagonal, stair-like fashion.

From there, the Grif should ride the stairs to the plant while the rest of the team steadily constricts the enemy team as they backtrack and try to push through.

    Looks sorta like this.

You see and can use smaller scale applications of this in MM all the time. This is just an ideal approach using a full team.

I've got others but this post is already super long. >.>

Ah, Echelon push is the one I simply call the wall. I don't know if its an official play but it does work in league games. As Grif I move right, left, right, left etc. The my tanks makes that tank wall so that I simply can trip by and score. I have never realy succeeded explaining it though so it never gets perfect which leads to an enemy defender breaking it.

This play would work granted the fact that the tanks can survive the whole time

Surprisingly the expected survival rate of the tanks is pretty high, (due to several factors, mostly mental). And if tanks hold the position against defenders instead of attacking for a kill (without giving ground), you'll be able to stall and tie-up enough defenders to make the possibility of a plant much more likely.

Yes, there are some obvious counters to this maneuver, (like the rear defenders 2v1ing the forward most attacker and then working up the line), but it can yield promising results with little risk as the runner has a huge escape window.

Just some food for thought.

I'll throw some others out there later once I have a bit more time.

true but it harder to keep a position as well as making a push at the same time
