So by now I'm sure you've seen the Kontrol Freek banners around the site and towards the bottom of these forums. If you're not familiar with the Kontrol Freek accessories for XBOX and PS3 controllers, they're basically attachments which extend the height of your analog sticks and help out with things such as accuracy and hand fatigue.

I have a pair of the FPS Legendary Kontrol Freeks and simply put, I will never remove them from my controller. I love them. In fact they are super glued to the sticks. That's how much I don't want to remove them. Of course it didn't help that I kind of stepped on my controller and broke one of the little tabs that holds the Kontrol Freeks in place. But at any rate I wanted them back on there badly, so I super glued them.

Anywho, for anyone who may have been thinking about purchasing a pair for themselves, if you follow our link (http://www.grifballhub.com/kontrolfreek) and use the promo code grifball, you can receive a 10% discount on them. And actually if you follow that link, it should automatically apply a coupon code for you.

I'm thinking about picking up a second pair for my back-up controller. They recently released a sweet new pair of Freeks that give your analog sticks that old arcade look and feel, with the round ball. Considering I just started playing NBA Jam OFE and absolutely love it, it would be fun playing somewhat how I used to play NBA Jam, back in the days of arcades. I dumped so many quarters into that game.

But yeh, get used to seeing the banners. I wouldn't promote any sort of gaming accessory on this site unless I felt it was something others could benefit from as well.

How long did they take to get used to? I imagine it would feel weird at first.

It definitely did feel a bit weird at first. It took me a couple days to get used to them. I actually took them back off after first using them for a couple games. I've been using them for quite a while now though, and if I turn on my other controller (that doesn't have Kontrol Freeks on it), it just doesn't feel right.

I know Dragon just bought a few pairs of them, so I'm sure he'll be able to come in here and share his experiences as a new user.

My friend has them too. He and his girlfriend use them religiously, just like Mike. They said they take a few days to get used to, but after that you can't play without them <hyperbole>. I was considering getting a pair, so now I have no excuse.
Mike: Does the Hub get a little somthin somethin when we use the Hub link?

Yep, we're affiliates now with Kontrol Freek, so Kontrol Freek will give us 10% off sales made through our link. It's not exactly a financial windfall, but it's something ;P

FYI: The hub discount disappears when you go to check out via PayPal, but it re-appears after logging in to PayPal and returning to KontrolFreek for final confirmation.

Yes. It just doesn't show up when you get redirected to PayPal or Amazon for check-out, but it all works out in the end.

Okay cool :) Must be just something odd in the way the set up works.

I've only used the FPS Legendary ones, so they're the only I could recommend. I definitely love them. My teammate Dragon (aka Dan on the forums) just purchased a few different pairs, including the arcade ones. You might consider asking him what he thinks of those. I've been thinking about getting them myself.

I have FPS freeks on my regular controllers. I like the extra range of motion you can get from them. You feel more in control.
