Description: Court with a natural wall hanging off the side of a cliff. Uses the new technique for perfectly flat floors using Coliseum Walls. The court, which was built against the only natural flat surface in Forgeworld, is set to 55 degrees off center which made for a spectacularly difficult build.

I have wanted to make a court in this location since i found the spot while constructing Bloody Grifball. Every month or so i would start, then quickly scrap, a new map realizing the technology was steps behind the vision. The final piece of the puzzle came together when i figured out the new flat floor trick. The floor itself is set 45° to Forgeworld, while the rest of the court is 55°. There are visual markers at center court and surrounding the goals (not pictured) to help orient players. The markers are Pyramid tops which do not produce a bounce when the player crosses over.

Pics galore.

I looked at this map and it is great as usual, what did you use for the wall hop wall?

It is definitely one of the more unique courts I have ever seen.

It looks great don't get me wrong, but I just don't like the fact that the coliseum walls are 1) used as the floor and 2) that the coliseum walls are directly straight to be lined up with the rest of the map making it a tad confusing to walk around regardless of the floor pieces that are sticking out

Have you ever walked on glass suspended high above the ground before? I have, it is very, very disorienting. I was trying to capture that disoriented feeling by keeping the floor at 45 degrees while the wall was 55 degrees. You get used to it after a few games.

There is a reason Coliseum Walls are becoming more common. Players prefer them. Sure, there are maps with beautifully elaborate floors like Clover, but the more complex a floor is, the mote visually distracting it becomes. Plus, you cant beat how smooth they have become without the use of a Grid, not to mention the superior Hammer-Bounces they produce.

I suppose you're right, but I can't shake the feeling that you'll get alot of negative feedback for that disoriented feeling of walking on that surface and yes I have walked on glass it feels really strange making me want to stay in a single spot

Was it the CN Tower in Toronto?

and, the pic is not distorted, the tower is twisted to counter the earth's rotation.

i like the colesium floor, i can just never get it to work .lol. i find that elaborae floors act more like guides than distractions though, like on clover the floor only looks really grand/elaborate when u see it form above. in the end it really depends on the map and how the floor plays, if the peices cuase a major issue it doesnt matter how good they look, if u cant fix it, scrap it.
