I know my team is on right now and will be after the GRUNT, and we love playing Dash. Perhaps we could test it out soon?

Sounds good to me. Just send me a message if we get something set up. I should be on for the rest of the day.

@Taco:

I don't think we'll hear much an uproar from people in matchmaking regarding the Vanilla changes. Changing the jump height is not going to severely impact the gameplay.

You'd be surprised by the fuss we had in the EUGBL last season when somebody brought up changing the jump height in Vanilla to a different (the GGL) setting.

Perhaps they don't like hammer jumping and launching.

I think it was the fact that you could launch the carrier easier and it meant they couldn't push up as much. Something like that. This season I just stuck on the GGL gravity anyway.

That's kinda the point of the change in the gametype, so you CAN launch easier.

I like vanilla grifball but it's boring as hell doing nothing but tanking the runner in. Launching, hawk diving and so on were huge parts of what made grifball so popular in Halo 3. The update doesn't give you the ability to do those things like we used to in H3, but at least it helps a little bit.

I hammer jump a lot and I don't generally get much air but I definitely see the difference sometimes with the lower gravity/higher jump, whichever change it was

I don't think we will either. I'm sure they'll be more happy than not with the changes. I was just saying that if we can make the changes with no second guessing in Vanilla, than why are we second guessing so much in Dash? That was my only reason for even saying that. :)
I'm glad to see the new changes being put in for Vanilla. I'm not a fan of it, but the new settings make it at least a little more tolerable for me.

We tested it out tonight, and we're going with a 90% shield recharge rate for the runner in Dash.

Here is the gametype we are giving to 343 for possible inclusion in matchmaking.

Here is the new default gametype for the GGL Dash playoffs.

Enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions. :)

Question - were you going to allow neutral host/streaming for the playoffs? If so, you should update the gametype to include the custom powerup settings so the host/streamer is invisible and can't kill/die/take the bomb by mistake.

Yes. I believe I did for the Dash settings. Can you check the settings to make sure they are in there correctly?

Nope, they aren't set on either version of the gametype you've linked.

I wonder why we don't have Blargball Dash yet. I remember someone say that Elites look funny Sprinting, but I haven't heard any other good reasons yet.

There are a few other minor tweaks between the gametypes, as noted below.

Other than including Elite loadouts, are Blargball settings equal to Vanilla settings, and Zealot settings equal to Evolved settings? If that's the case, we could program in Spartan and Elite loadouts in Vanilla, Evolved and Dash, and they would be interchangeable with Blargball, Zealot Blargball, and Blargball Dash, respectively (since we can't force Spartan or force Elite like the makers can).
