It should be a great season. Better than last season probably.

I know this has been suggested in the past, and if Jimmy was here he'd probably shoot it down again, but he isn't, so hear me out. If the season is still around a month away, what if there was some sort of FA Cup-esque competition? Essentially an extended bum-rush. 6 teams, 8 teams, however many teams have put their name down on the shortlist, enter a single elimination knockout competition. Say teams have a week to play each round. That make any sense? Just be a bit of fun in the run up to the season, nothing too serious.

Thoughts?

This idea interests me but it would depend how long it would take and also the GGL is still underway of course but I'll definitely think about it.

There is a week between the regular season of the GGL and 19th March.

Yeah, I was thinking either do it all in one week or do a round every week (so there's only a commitment to do one game a week). If you tried to squeeze it into one day you'd only get 3 or 4 teams and it'd fall a bit flat. Maybe do it at the start of playoffs perhaps? JSG might suffer from match fatigue then at least.

That isn't a bad idea, I can see it working.
