The European Cup!

It has been a good few years since the Sarge's Memorial Cup, and now we want to bring it back and provide an extra tournament for the European Community of Grifball.
If you do not remember the last Memorial Cup, which was created by Gibbley Giblets of Sarge's Angels, then here is what happened :http://www.freewebs.com/thesargememorialcup/.
This can be a great oppurtunity for teams to try new things, try out new players, and have a good tournament.
Therefore we are hoping for something similiar to that, but with hopefully less teams dropping out of the cup.


The Cup follows current European League Rules, however people from outside of Europe CAN NOT be signed up or allowed to play.
Once you play for a team you are locked to playing for that team. You are allowed to use people that you have not signed up - pending that they are from Europe and have not played for another team during the cup.

For this tournament we have had a total of 10 teams signing up, which I do not believe is that bad at all for a less important competition to all of those in European Grifball.

I have, as necessary, randomised all of these 10 teams to make 2 groups, Group A and Group B. This was all randomised by an internet source and I assure you that there was no sort of bias or cheating involved in the group organising.

Each team in the groups will play each other just once, so after all 4 group games are played we will be able to determine where people will be put through to in the play off stages.

As I have mentioned previously, everyone gets into a sort of play off and therefore by the end of the tournament we can properly tell which places people came.

The teams in the first and second places will go through to the upper play offs.
They will be played as such:

1 W vs 2 2nd
2 W vs 1 2nd

With the winners of these going through to play a final.

The remaining 6 teams of the tournament will be seeded into the Lower Bracket with there being 3 rounds.

L1 VS 4TH 2 WR1 vs 3RD 2 WINNERS of R2
L2 VS 4TH 1 WR2 Vs 3RD 1

However in each round there will be best placed games.
Therefore
LR1s play eachother and Losers of R2 play eachother.
This is the same with the Upper bracket with their play off round.
This is to ensure that teams get all the grifball action they can and always have a chance at getting one place higher.

I will allow for 3 weeks for teams to get their Group Stage Games done - unless finished before. With the third week being a catchup week.
