Can anyone think of any major "serious" changes/additions/tweaks there could be?

I wouldn't say serious but what about a sort of "One to watch for" sort of thing, or a prediction for MOTM. ;)

I could do "Key player" predicitions, though I think MOTM may have to be dealt with after the games. But I guess it could lead to some sort of end of season award for MOTM's

You should do like a Key player for each match as Crab suggested.

As time consuming as it would be it would be cool if the key players weren't just decided from stats and the film clip was watched :)

As long as game films were provided I'd happily view them & do it that way

Right, Here we go folks since it's big money summer transfer from one thread to it's own the first Teaguey's Take of the summer. A European Cup special, enjoy:

The European Cup

This is an independent off season tournament set up by none other then Strangler 999. This will be run similar to that of the SMC (Sarge Memorial Cup) run by Gibbley Giblets. Hopefully this will be a big success. It will be divided into two divisions of five, so let's take a look at the divisions & teams. They'll be 2 sets of playoffs an upper & lower playoffs. Upper playoffs are for the division winners & runners up, lower playoffs are for the bottom 2 of each divisions, so third placed teams don't get more then the group stage.

Division 1:

ATR (A-Team Rejects): Last seasons wild card entry return for their first off season tournament (that I know of if not I apoligise). They had a good showing last season & will be looking to do better in this tounament. They sit in a tough division but if they play well then they stand a solid chance.

Team Roster:

Team Captain*: Edible Pains
Player 2*: Bang Tidy Potatoo
Player 3*: DRO Praetorian
Player 4*: Taco Power PhD
Player 5: II LiZARDZz2010
Player 6: Razorxrampage

The line up is solid with a few known players & some yet to see players, they are a suprise package.

SA (Sarge's Angels): The mosy unsucessful yet ever present SA return once again to TRY their hand at success, they have the same solid line up they've had with a few additions & from what I can see in the listed groups it'll be between them & ATR for second place.

Team Roster:

Team Captain*: Teaguey222
Player 2*: Gibbley Giblets
Player 3*: Trampy Boy
Player 4*: Carkito17
Player 5: RenegadeOfFunk1
Player 6: Ghetto Clown
Player 7: DavidMcC1989

SA's roster boasts a wealth of known names from European grifball & they should be able to do well, though this has not been their case over the 4 years of their existence. They should be looking for second spot in division 1.

JSG (Johnson's Salty Grifballs): The back to back to back EUGBL champions will be looking to fill the cabinet with yet another trophy here. They are the clear favourites for division 1 & the overall tournament. They again boast a solid line up though a notable departure from the team was Kirsty De Lacey.

Team Roster:

Team Captains*: Strangler 999 / Messiah Muffin
Player 3*: A Cursed House (Hardcore Crab)
Player 4*: l 3 E N J II
Player 5*: AlExThEnIcE

They have filled the void of Kirsty with the return of Danny (Crab/house). The line up shows experience & as I said before they're the favourites & should brush aside the division.

ATP: No not Alien & Predators, this is Avoid Teen Pregnancy a new team that has formed for the tournament & I hope the upcoming EUGBL's & GGL's. They are the complete under dogs here.

Team Roster:

Co-captains - vengancepenguin & Fleeing Abra
Member 3 - zebradog59
Member 4 - Wilko92
Member 5 - slim the banana
Member 6 - Linxx182

Some of these players are known by the league players however, they again boast some new unknown players by the majority of players. They are under no pressure to succeed so they can play with a certain freedom & are under no illusions of their own status in division 1.

JIG (Johnstan's Irish Grifballers): The first (that I can remember) all Irish team. They are another of the newly founded teams by Strangler & JSG. I have played against their captain & I know how he plays, though as a team I have no idea how they'll do so I again rate them as under dogs.

Team Roster:

Team Captain: APrettyG00dN00b
Player 2: MLGISMYNAME1
Player 3: woodser77
Player 4: ShadowFox21077

I can't see them making the playoffs (upper bracket) but I have been known to be wrong, so we'll just have to wait & see with them.

Division 1 Final Standing predictions:

JSG 8 0
SA 5 3
ATR 4 4
JIG 2 6
ATP 1 7

These are my judgments, they may be a mile off but this is how I feel it'll end up.

Division 2:

GH (Get Hammered): Formerly known as TDN (The Dead Ninjas). They are back after the last league & are (again if I'm correct) competing in their first off season tournament. They had a less then average showing in the league but hopefully this'll be a chance for them to show the other teams what they have.

Team Roster:

Team Captain: Metal karima
Player 2*: DazedWheat6419
Player 3*: MisshapenLime68
Player 4*: Nathan8080
Player 5: xxTheDarkDeadxx
Player 6: Finnster123

This is not to sound disrespectful or anything but I honestly do not know any of the players on this team. So in my books they are a complete unknown entity & again play with out any pressure upon them.

HH (Hellhounds): They had a solid season'll start last season & then had a minor implosion. Hopefully all issues will have been sorted & their team unity is stronger then ever. They are missing several known names that we have come to know on HH.

Team Roster:

Team Captain: steelwing158
Player 2: Sanguinedawn21
Player 3:bennyflop
Player 4:Black Vulcan212
Player 5: anders212

A smaller (with some familiar) names & more unknown. They're name will be more known then the players, they'll have a good chance of finishing well but they'll need to perform to achieve.

BS (Budgie Studios): This is CS (Communist Snails) formed under a new name. They were last seasons division 2 champions & they'll be looking to make a statement for the next EUGBL as they'll most likely be bumped up to division 1.

Team Roster:

Team Captain: MallardQuakson
Player 2: JshadowknightP
Player 3: Maroon Knight N
Player 4: Hurricane Ham
Player 5: Tango Lemon
Player 6: flameknightj
Player 7: Xx 3v0 PwNz xX

They have pretty much the same line up as int the season adding to that Tango Lemons (I think) reemergence & the return of pwnz they stand a solid chance.

TI (Team Impact): Last seasons runners up & the clear favourties for division 2. These two met last season with TI taking that game it'll be interesting to see how they get on again.

Team Roster:

Team Captain : rollo 93
Player 2 : DartMonkey360
Player 3 : CaptainSev004
Player 4 : germanicus1994
Player 5 : NonDairyTea
Player 6 : kirsty de lacey
Player 7 : TMR797
Player 8 : Communist Tiger

Again another roster boasting skill & experience. They also display their new signing in Kirsty De Lacey.

JSH (Johnson's Stiff Hammers): Another JSG team, they again boast a roster with a mixture of inexperience & experience, featuring former JSG players & captains.

Team Roster:

Team Captain: OhOh Jackarias
Player 2*: AwareMosquito
Player 3*: ViolentCareBare
Player 4*: ii TurTL3 NiNjA
Player 5: IVIaGiCBULLET47
Player 6: camouflage11

This team could be division 2's dark horse.

Division 2 Final League Standing Predictions:

TI 6 2
BS 5 3
JSH 3 5
HH 3 5
GH 2 6

So there we have it, my preview to the upcoming tournament with final standings. Let's have a good, fun 3 weeks of competing & hopefully no forfeit factories. Good luck to all competing.

We've beaten JIG before and I reckon we could take ATR if we wanted, it's the other two who'd be a problem for us...

Barely beat JIG and you probably won't beat ATR.

ATR seems to be highly rated!

I think that JIG could take ATP.
