Introduction
The GG League is a recreational league developed for Grifball players wanting to play in a non-competitive environment.
Staff
GrifballHub.com is property of HubMaster Puptastrophe. The GG League is administrated by Goosechecka and Kalbelgarion.
Objectives of the League
- Provide a fun environment for grifballers on the court and on the forum
- Provide an environment free of malicious trash talking
- Provide an environment free of personal attacks
Teams/Players
Teams must be comprised of at least 4 players. There is no limit to the number of players that can play on a team roster during a season, although maintaining a consistent roster is encouraged.
Guest Player
If a team is unable to field 4 players from their roster, they may invite a member from another team to be a guest player for that game. The player may not be from a team currently involved in the match. This is regarded as a last resort, but may be implemented in order to expedite games. If a team uses a guest player, the team is responsible for the guest player’s behavior. If a team is using a guest player who is not in the league, or if a team is adding a player to their roster after the season has begun, either Kalbelgarion or Goosechecka must be notified before the game is played.
Guest players MAY NOT be used during any period of the playoffs. This includes players in the league and players not in the league.
Schedule
Depending on how many teams sign up, teams will be divided into 2 or more divisions. Each team will play every other team in their division at least once, for a total of 10 games played. Wednesday night is designated as Game Night for all divisions. Teams are expected to be available to play at their designated time (either 8:30 or 11:30 EST).
Games may be rescheduled whenever convenient for both teams.
Forfeits
In the interest of keeping this recreational league moving forward, if a team misses one or more games on their game night, the games missed will be recorded as forfeits. If the teams that showed up to play agree, the games may be played at a later time. A team with excessive forfeits may not be invited back to participate in future season.
Disputes
Because this is a recreational league, there is no formal process for submitting and adjudicating disputes. However, if all four players of a team take a knee during a game, the other team must stop play so that the two captains can talk about any serious connection issues that have arisen (unplayable lag, a player disconnecting or not spawning, etc). Then it’s up to the captains to decide what their best course of action is: reschedule, keep playing, swap out players, get a neutral host, restart the game, create a new lobby but keep the score up to that point, etc. Captains are encouraged to do whatever it takes to make the game fun for everyone.
If the captains involved in an unplayable game are unable to agree on a course of action, they should send a message to Goosechecka or Kalbelgarion describing the situation, along with any film they have of the game.
The Forum
The forum is accessible by invite only. Players must be registered on Grifballhub.com to access the forums, and all registrations are screened before being accepted.
The forum is for discussing anything league related and for talking with other players. Currently there is one thread set up for general discussion, one thread for reporting matches, and one thread for submitting highlights.
Rules/Discipline
Since the purpose of this league is to create and maintain a fun environment, the following rules are strictly enforced.
Format
Playoffs
At the end of the 5 week season, at least the top 4 teams (based on overall record, then head to head record, then head to head points, ect) will be in the playoffs. The playoff games are a best of 3 series. After the first game, the losing team may, if they wish, decline the rest of the series (due to time restraints, etc).
Tie Breakers
Should a tie occur in determining a team’s eligibility for playoffs or playoff seeding, the following tie breakers will be administered in this order. Should more than 2 teams tie, the exclusion criteria will be followed in order until one team is eliminated. The remaining two teams will start again with the first tie-breaker criteria.
Please remember that this is a RECREATIONAL league and the goal of teams entering this league should be to have fun. If you do not agree to any of the rules and regulations of this league, please do not apply to be a member of this league.
