Halo 3 MLG Players Not So Thankful; Boycotting RGB
It’s Thanksgiving, a time of the year where people give thanks for all they have, a time when families gather together and celebrate life and love. However, one certain family of MLGers has nothing to be thankful for. With it being almost the end of the month, Halo 3 MLGers know that Ranked Grifball is just around the corner.
Many of these MLGers are boycotting Thanksgiving and not even spending time with their families. I spoke with a few of these players to try and better understand what they are doing. 4Sh0t4U told me that he is not giving any thanks; rather, he has started calling it Hatesgiving. He stated that “I will be spending my whole Hatesgiving on the Bungie forums talking trash about how Grifball requires no skill and is a stupid game.”
SolidSniperShow is not going with his four kids and wife out of town to visit his family. He’s instead learning to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. He said, “I won’t even play a game that supports a ridiculous game-type like Grifball.” He went on to say, “If they want to play with hammers and swords so much they should go to the renaissance fair with all those other freaks. Happy [Expletive Deleted] Hatesgiving n00bs!”
Some members have taken it a step further by even sending a formal petition to Bungie with all their gamertags, demanding that Bungie stop supporting Grifball. Bungie replied with a warning that they would replace the MLG playlist with Grifball, and asked all the people to learn to spell without numbers in their names.
So from the Staff at GrifballHUB, we want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. Remember to eat plenty, enjoy the time with your family and to not be a Douche. Because then you sound like these people. Happy Holidays!
