 Neutral Host Launches

Neutral Host Launches

It’s playoff time and that means tougher competition and mandatory neutral host. Many players in the amateur league have never played on a neutral host map, and up until this season, many Pro players had not either.

The following video is a brief tutorial on three different basic strategies used for opening launches on neutral host. Every team has its own preference when it comes to launches and this tutorial is by no means an exhaustive list of launching techniques. Rather, this video offers some simple, basic level instruction on giving your team the best chance at being first to the bomb.

    Good job Goose

  2. I honestly never even thought of only using the 2 middle portals…Damn ingenuity!

    I think that the second one might take some practice to get right but would be well worth it in the long run. Nice work Goose!

    We should work on the next version of this. The Winter League Sandbox Neutral Host map (as you know) has changed the starting layout to allow more natural, and familiar, starting launches.

    @Nokyard -

    My prehistoric animation software is at your disposal. :)

    I actually wanted to use real game footage, but I don’t have a capture card.

I urge you to do everything you can to practice on Neutral Host (NH) maps. Not only is not having host is a huge difference, but the current NH map is a lot different for opening launches. Take ample time for you and your team to adjust to this. There is an article on the HUB that shows a “How-To” on NH launches. You can find that article here. [...]
