GRIFBALL MATCHMAKING
Even since the spring of 2008, Grifball has been a staple of the Halo matchmaking experience. Find out how to play Grifball in matchmaking in each of the games below.

Grifball is not currently available in Halo 3 matchmaking. Although Grifball made its matchmaking debut in the Spring of 2008 in a Halo 3 Double XP playlist, the matchmaking hoppers have not been updated since 2011.
Grifball has had a permanent playlist in Halo: Reach since shortly after the game launched. New Armor Abilities in the game opened the door for several new Grifball variants.
Grifball
Vanilla Grifball with no armor abilities.
Grifball Dash
Grifball with sprint and evade. Do a barrel roll!
Blargball
Play Grifball as Elites with no armor abilities.
Zealot Blargball
Grifball with Elites and evade.
Jump Pack Grifball
Grifball with limited jetpacks.
Jetpack Grifball
Grifball with unlimited jetpacks. The sky’s the limit!
Grifball has had a permanent playlist in Halo 4 since shortly after the game launched.
Grifball
The newbie-friendly Grifball gametype consists of one long round where the Grifball respawns after every score. Players automatically catch the ball when it is thrown to them.
Grifball Pro
Grifball Pro mimics Grifball league settings by ending the round after every score. Players do not automatically catch the ball when it is thrown to them.
Grifball Dash
Players are each equipped with a thruster pack for easy maneuverability.
Field Grifball
It’s Grifball crossed with Ricochet. Toss the ball for a score or run it in for even more points.
AGLA Grifball
The exact settings used on the Pro Circuit. Rounds end after every score and player assassinations are disabled.
Grifball
The basic Grifball gametype consists of one long round where the Grifball respawns after every score. Players can use all Spartan Abilities, including the Ground Pound, Charge, Slide, and Thrusters.
